BuyWhat people ask most before choosing the bigger machine. Can't find yours? See the full FAQ or contact us.
Choose by the width you'll work at most weeks. If runners, larger bath mats, big wall pieces or client work at 60–70 cm keep showing up in your plans, the CF07 is the right machine. If most of what you make stays within 50 cm, the CF05 covers it in a smaller footprint. Both use the same software and stitch mechanism. Which size fits you →
Up to 70 × 70 cm out of the box, and 70 × 140 cm with the CF07 Expansion Kit. Those figures are the real usable design area — the cloth is cut larger so the frame has something to grip. Anything bigger can be tufted in panels and joined after finishing.
Yes — and the bigger frame is an advantage. Lay several small designs into one working area in Craftphilia Studio and run them in a single session, so each yarn change serves every piece on the frame instead of being repeated for each one. Coasters, patches and sets come off the frame together.
Yes. The CF07 places every stitch with ±0.5 mm positioning accuracy across the whole working area, and the frame holds the cloth at even tension from edge to centre. The design has been validated through more than 168 hours of continuous, non-stop running, so a large piece comes out as consistent at the last row as at the first.
No. The machine follows the path Craftphilia Studio generates from your image, so there's no hand technique to learn first. What your first few pieces teach you is design and finishing — the same for everyone, whatever size they work at.
The CF07, its frame, and a starter kit of tufting cloth, a starter pattern and matching yarn — enough for a first piece. It arrives partially assembled, and you finish the rest by following a step-by-step video. No special tools needed, and it's a one-time job.
The machine measures 1050 × 920 × 450 mm and weighs 19 kg; with the Expansion Kit fitted it's 1050 × 1620 mm and 23 kg. That's more than a standard desk — plan for a dedicated surface such as a long workbench or a sturdy table you won't need for anything else, level and solid enough to hold the weight without wobble. Plan around the footprint, not the tufting area.
Most pieces take one to five hours of machine time; larger, busier designs at full size take longer. Size, colour count and pattern complexity all move the number. After tufting, the glue needs up to a day to cure before finishing, so plan large pieces across two days or more.
No — you load each colour. The CF07 tufts one colour at a time, then pauses and waits. Load the next yarn, press resume, and it picks up exactly where it stopped. Between colour changes it runs without you, and if the yarn breaks or tangles it detects it and pauses. There's no limit on colours.
No. The CF07 is built around a 5 mm yarn specification rather than one material — acrylic, wool and cotton all work, including third-party yarn in that spec. Yarn needs a hollow core so it sits on the holder. We recommend our own because we've tested it, and damage caused by out-of-spec yarn isn't covered by the warranty. As a guide, a fully tufted square metre uses roughly 2.5–3 kg of yarn. Choosing yarn →
Craftphilia Studio — free, with updates, for Windows and macOS. It separates your image into colours, generates the tufting path and previews it at real size before anything runs. It connects to the machine by USB or Wi-Fi, and only the AI design features need an internet connection.
Yes. The CF07 Expansion Kit fits by undoing and re-securing a few screws on the base and frame, and most owners fit it once and leave it on. Kits and frames are model-specific, so the CF07 takes the CF07 kit only. Check you have the space for the expanded footprint first.
