The Automated Tufting Machine for Bigger Work
The Automated Tufting Machine for Your First Rug
FAQ
What is an automated tufting machine?
A machine that tufts yarn into stretched cloth along a path generated from your image, instead of a person guiding a tufting gun by hand. It handles the repetitive tufting; design and finishing stay with you.
Can a beginner use one?
Yes. There's no gun to hold and no hand technique to master first. What beginners learn over their first few pieces is design and finishing — the same for every tufter.
Does it change yarn colours by itself?
No. The machine tufts one colour at a time, pauses for you to load the next yarn, and resumes where it stopped. There's no limit on colours.
Can I use my own yarn?
Yes. Craftphilia machines are built around a 5 mm yarn specification — acrylic, wool and cotton all work, including third-party yarn in that spec.
Is it only for rugs?
No. The same machine makes wall art, shaped pieces, carved relief and panels for cushions and other objects. Tufting beyond rugs →
